Introduction

Points Vault ("we," "us," or "our") operates the points-vault.com website and the Points Vault mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our app.

The Points Vault App

You can use the Points Vault app without an account. Without one, everything you enter — your cards, balances, expiration dates, spending profile, budgets and any bank statements you import — is stored only on your iPhone.

• Statement import: bank statements you share with the app are read and categorised on your iPhone, including with Apple Intelligence on supported devices. The statement files are not sent to us, and the app deletes each file from your iPhone once it has been read; only the transactions you choose to add are kept.
• Optional account: if you sign in with Apple or with an email address, we store your name, email address and account ID, and sync your app data (cards, balances, expiration dates, spending profile, budgets and imported transactions) so it is available on your other devices. This data is stored with our database provider, Supabase, and is readable only by your account.
• Analytics: we use PostHog to understand which features are used — for example which screens are opened, which buttons are tapped (without the text shown on them), and simple feature events such as running the card optimizer (with the choices made, like reward preference and number of cards) or searching award prices (with the two airports and the cabin searched). We never send your balances, card numbers, transactions, name or email address to PostHog. PostHog uses a random identifier created on your device and receives your IP address, from which it may estimate an approximate location. This information is not linked to your account.
• Award charts and reference data (cards, transfer partners, award charts) are downloaded from our servers; these requests do not include your personal data.
• No advertising or tracking: the app shows no ads, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your data.
• Deleting your data: in the app, open Profile and choose Delete my Points Vault data. This removes your Points Vault data from our servers and from your iPhone, including imported statements. Your sign-in is shared with our Loungeaway app, so it is not removed by this; to delete the sign-in itself, email contact@points-vault.com. Data stored only on your iPhone is also removed when you delete the app.

Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways, including:

• Personal Data: Name, email address, and other contact information you voluntarily provide when signing up for our services or contacting us.
• Loyalty Program Data: Airline miles balances, hotel points, and credit card rewards information you choose to track within Points Vault.
• Usage Data: Information about how you access and use our website and app, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and time spent on pages.
• Device Data: Information about your mobile device, including device model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our website and app
• Help you track and manage your loyalty program balances
• Send you updates, newsletters, and marketing communications (with your consent)
• Improve and personalize your experience
• Analyze usage trends and optimize our services

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate our website and app (e.g., hosting, our database provider Supabase, analytics provider PostHog, and email delivery).

• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Affiliate Links & Referral Disclosure

Points Vault contains affiliate and referral links to credit card issuers and travel loyalty programs. When you apply for a product through these links, we may receive compensation. This does not affect the terms of any offer or your approval odds. We only feature products we genuinely believe offer strong value for travelers.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our website and hold certain information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, some features of our site may not function properly without cookies.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
